The A to Z (New Year's Eve Edition)

A is for Antetokounmpo . The Greek Freak, Giannis Antetokounmpo, logged his first triple double of the season last night when he finished with 26 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in Milwaukee's game with the Heat. Unfortunately it wasn't enough as the Bucks lost for the third time in five games, falling 119-108 .  B is for Baylor . The Baylor Bears Men's Basketball Team, ranked second in the country, improved to 8-0 yesterday with a 105-76 win over winless Alcorn State. Baylor finished with six players in double figures led by Senior MaCio Teague's 18 points. Baylor returns to action on Saturday against Iowa State.  C is for Chris Paul . The veteran point guard is averaging 9.5 assists through the Phoenix Suns' first four games this season. If he can maintain this average it will be the most assists Paul has averaged since the 2015-16 season when he was with the Clippers (10.0 apg). A is for Arsenal . In what's been a difficult first half of the 2020-21 English Premier League season for the Gunners, Arsenal picked up an impressive 3-1 Boxing Day win over rival Chelsea. Despite the win, Arsenal currently sit in 15th place, just six points clear of the bottom three.  B is for Brandon Allen . The journeyman quarterback had the game of his life for the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday throwing for 371 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Bengals shocked the Houston Texans 37-31 . Allen was a sixth round pick out of Arkansas by the Jaguars in 2016 and has since spent time with the Jags, Rams, Broncos and now Bengals.  C is for Cleveland Cavaliers . After finishing 19-46 last season, the Cavs find themselves 3-0 after their 118-94 win over the 76ers. Cleveland was led by Andre Drummond's 24 points and 14 rebounds. A is for Astros . The Astros made their first offseason move signing outfielder Jose Siri to a minor league deal this week. Siri hit .237 between AA and AAA in 2019, and didn't appear in a game in 2020.  B is for Badgers . The 9th ranked Wisconsin Badgers Mens Basketball Team defeated 12th ranked Michigan State 85-76 on Christmas Day . Wisconsin improves to 8-1 on the season while Michigan State falls to 0-2 in the Big Ten.  C is for Camellia Bowl . The Buffalo Bulls defeated the Marshall Thundering Herd 17-10 to win the 2020 Camellia Bowl on Christmas Day. Buffalo got 138 rushing yard from junior Kevin Marks Jr. in the win.  D is for Duncan Robinson . The 6'7" sharpshooter hit seven three-pointers on Christmas Day as the Miami Heat defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 111-98. Robinson hit 270 3-pointers during the 2019-20 season. E is for England . A is for  André-Pierre Gignac . The French striker who plays for Tigres UANL in Liga MX scored his  tournament-best sixth goal in the 84th minute of the CONCACAF Champions League Final to give Tigres a 2-1 win over MLS's LAFC.  B is for Buddy Hield . Hield tipped it in a missed dunk by Harrison Barnes at the buzzer in overtime to give the Sacramento Kings a 124-122 opening night win over the Denver Nuggets. C is for COVID . Due to positive or inconclusive tests, and player quarantines, the Houston Rockets were not able to dress eight players for their opening night game against the Oklahoma City Thunder resulting in the game's postponement.  D is for Dennis Schroder . The 27 year old point guard made his Lakers debut on Tuesday night and was two assists away from a triple double finishing with 14 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists.  E is for Edwards .
