A Name to Remember: Barbra Banda
We're two games into the 2020 (2021) Summer Olympics women's soccer competition, and Barbra Banda, Zambia's 21 year-old striker, already has two hat tricks, against the Netherlands (#4 in the world) and China (#15 in the world). Zambia (the Copper Queens), participating in their first Olympics soccer competition, are ranked 104th in world and are the lowest ranked team in the tournament.
Banda currently plays professionally for Shanghai Shengli in China after starting her pro career in Spain. At the time of this writing, she's tied with Dutch striker Vivianne Miedema for the tournament's scoring lead with six goals.
Zambia, who lost to the Dutch 10-3 before tying China 4-4, conclude group play against Brazil on Tuesday.
