How Many UConn Alums Are on the U.S. Women's Olympic Basketball Team?
Answer? FIVE of the twelve women on the U.S. Olympic Women's Basketball Team went to Connecticut including Sue Bird (Age 40!) and Diana Taurasi (Age 39!). Both are going for their fifth Olympic Gold Medal. The other UConn alums on the roster are Breanna Stewart, Napheesa Collier and Tina Charles. Bird, Stewart and Taurasi all started in the U.S.'s opening win over Nigeria.
