LiAngelo Ball Summer League By the Numbers

Unlike his lottery pick brothers, Lonzo and LaMelo, LiAngelo Ball hasn't quite found his way as a professional basketball player. That said, he's on the Charlotte Hornets Summer League squad which has done enough to generate some buzz around him again. A fast start that saw him score 16 points in 16 minutes against the Trail Blazers while hitting on 5 of 8 three-pointers only added to the hype.

However, after shooting 50% from the floor in his first two games, he's shot just 30% from the floor in his last three. He's only attempted two free throws in five games, he's gone four straight games without an assist, and his rebounding numbers are hardly eye-opening. The Hornets are 0-5.

Overall, Ball is averaging 9.6 points, 2.0 rebounds and shooting 38% from the field and 34.5% from long range. If you discount his hot shooting in the opener, those numbers drop to 34.2% from the field and 23.8% from long range. I'm not sure it's enough, but we'll see what happens. The Hornets went 33-39 last season.
